How can I enrich emails with data from my webshop?

In this article, you will read about the possibilities of enriching emails with data from your web store.

As a result of linking your online shop platform, you now also have access to a wide range of customer information in Reloadify. You can use this information to enhance and personalise your triggers and newsletters. In this article we will talk about the options you have to implement them:

  1. Merge tags

  2. Special links

  3. Hyperlinks

  4. URLs

  5. Dynamic discount codes

  6. Dynamic products

1. Merge tags

Merge tags are the tools to personalise texts in your emails for the receiver. For example: you can add the first and/or last name of your customer, a discount code or the last ordered product.

You can easily add the tag by clicking on the text box. A toolbar with the option "Merge Tags" will appear. By clicking on it, you will get a list of different options. You will find your self-created discount codes at the end of this list.

2. Special links

Special links enable you to add event links or a link forwarding to your online shop. You will find this option in the toolbar of a text box (next to the button for Merge tags). By clicking on it a drop down menu with options will appear.

With special links, you have a number of options:

3. Hyperlinks

You can also add Hyperlinks, which are independent from the special links. Use hyperlinks to make email addresses or web addresses clickable.

Select the text, which you want to convert to a link and click on the paperclip icon, as shown below in the image.

A menu, in which you will have to select the type of link, will appear. In the following example you will see that we chose an email address:

To create a link for a website, it will look like this:

Afterwards click "Ok" and your link is created!

4. URLs

Using URLs you can easily link your online shop, social media or a document in your emails. The email editor offers different options to do this:

Pictures and videos

If you want to add pictures and/or videos to your emails, you can link a URL to them. Click on the picture/video and on "Action" in the menu on the right. This way you can add an URL to your email, which leads to your online shop or social media accounts.

Buttons

A further option is to use buttons in your emails. You can link those with URLs; for example think about a product from your online shop or in an abandoned shopping cart.

It's also possible to use Special links (see point 2) or to link a file/document. In this article, you read how to add a PDF to an email.

Social Media

Using the social media block you can link different URLs of your Social Media accounts in your emails. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn are displayed by default, but you can adjust this as you like.

5. Dynamic discount codes

We offer dynamic discount codes in two variations: automatic and manual discount codes. You can add both options to triggers as well as newsletters.

  • Automatic discount codes are a great opportunity to activate inactive customers until they (hopefully) buy in your online shop again. This discount type is also a perfect addition to birthday emails, to congratulate your customers.

  • Manual discount codes are ideal for defined target groups. If you for example want to get rid of a special product category or if you sell digital products, which require a code to download/access the product.

6. Dynamic products

Dynamic products make the content around the text more personal. For example, you can insert products from an abandoned shopping cart, but not only that; there are more options. You add dynamic products via the Rows tab.

The system then loads the products linked to a customer (profile) upon shipment. So the dynamic products depend on the profile information and vary by profile and email.
