Sending a trigger means sending an automated email to profiles which match your preselected filters. You can find the trigger page on the left in menu under "Emails", where you can click on "Trigger".

For example: You want to create a trigger for all female customers, whose birthday it is today. In the email you want to display specific products and possibly add a discount code as a present.

Triggers are created once and from the moment of activation, our system continuously checks which profiles match your filters. If a profile matches, the email is automatically sent.

Have a look at the trigger page. You can find standard triggers we already created for you. You will see the name of the trigger, the revenue, the status (active or inactive), a drop-down menu and a button to activate the trigger (or to pause it).

In the drop-down menu you can also find the following options:

  • Edit: you can adjust the settings, add content and specify your design.

  • Statistics: on this page you'll find all the statistics about how your trigger is performing.

  • Duplicate: you can duplicate a whole trigger or parts of it and use it again.

  • Delete: you can delete a trigger.

  • AB-test results: If you run an A/B test, you'll find your statistics here.

Important: To activate our standard triggers, you will have to add content and choose a design first.

Set a trigger

To create a new trigger, click on the blue button "New trigger":

Step 1. Audience

In the first step, you begin with naming your trigger and selecting the time period in which the trigger is to be sent. Afterward, you select your audience. This is done with the help of filters.

For example: You want to send all female costumers, whose birthday it is today, an email with a discount code. You would use the following filters: the birthday is today (equals 0 days ago) and the gender is female.

Underneath the filter settings, you can immediately see how many profiles match those filters.

Step 2. E-mail settings

In step two, you enter the sender's details; the name and e-mail address. We recommend using the name and e-mail address of your web shop. You also enter the e-mail subject on this page. You are of course completely free in this, but we advise you to give the subject of the e-mail a personal touch by adding the customer's first and/or last name. Then you can choose to add a preheader, a short introduction, for better conversion.

In this step, you set whether you want to resend unopened e-mails after X days. If your customer hasn't opened the e-mail by then, the e-mail will be sent again.

Then you can choose to send your trigger between certain times, e.g. between 7 am and 10 pm.

Want to A/B test your trigger? Turn on the slider for this in this step.

Step 3. Design an email

In this third step you will design your trigger. Using the menu on the right, you can drag different elements into your email, for example dynamic products. If you need support and tips setting up a trigger, have a look at the following articles:

If you have completed your trigger and are curious how this trigger is going to look in the inbox of your customers, you have the option of sending a test email to yourself. Our system will populate the email with randomly picked data from a profile of your online shop.

Once you are done with the last adjustment, you are able to move onto the final step; "Activation". You will find the green button at the top right on your screen.

Step 4. Activate your trigger

In the final step you will find a summary of your trigger settings and the options to activate the trigger immediately or to schedule it for another time (by clicking 'save as concept') .

As soon as you activate your trigger, our system will search for profiles matching your selected filters. If a profile matches, an email is automatically sent. If you decide to activate the trigger at a later point, it will be marked as "inactive".
