With this trigger, you persuade your customers to write a product review!

Not every customer is waiting for a product review. You as a webshop owner have an interest in the reviews. To get your customers to do this, you have to make it easy for them. In addition, there must of course be something to gain for the customer. πŸ’°

Go to the trigger page and click on the Reloadify - Product review template.

Trigger settings

First of all, give the trigger a clear name. The name you enter here is not visible to customers, but purely to yourself, so you can easily find the trigger back on the trigger page:

Next, filter your audience:

The last order that:
The order status equals completed
The time of ordering equals 14 days ago

You select all profiles that have placed an order in your webshop 14 days ago and whose order has been completed. Choose the most recent order here.

At the bottom of the page you can see how many profiles match the set filters. It may be that no profiles are matching at the moment of setting, however, this may look different in a few minutes.

Sender settings

In this step you fill in the details of you as the sender. If all goes well, both your name and e-mail address are already filled in. If not, please check your email settings in the settings menu. We advise you to choose the name and e-mail address of your webshop and to use both in your entire e-mail communication. You can choose just your company name or a combination of your own name and your company name. We would like to recommend you not to use only your own name. Customers might not recognize the name and see the email as spam:

Then you continue with the email subject:

May we ask you something {{first_name}}?

And add a preheader if necessary:

We actually always recommend adding the customer's first name in the subject line. This increases the chances of the customer opening the email. Adding a preheader can improve conversion. It can give customers that extra push to open the email. The most important advice for both is really; test what works best for your customers.

Email editor

You go to the e-mail editor; the place where magic happens! You see a standard template that you can (re)design yourself. Using the menu on the right you can add different elements to your e-mail, for example images, videos, text boxes etc. Of course you can also remove aspects from the template; click on the relevant row and then on the trash can icon that appears on the right.

Let's start the email with the message for your customers:

Hi {{first_name}}
You recently purchased the products below from us, thank you! If all went well you should have received them by now. To improve our customer satisfaction, we would like to ask you to leave a review. As a thank you, you will receive a 10% discount on your next purchase. 🎁

You can make reviewing a product easy by adding the dynamic content block 'product for review' to your email. This block shows the specific product the customer ordered last and links with the button directly to the correct page.

Note; one block actually shows one product.

❗ Important: we do not recommend using the multiple block options. We currently have these options disabled, as we received feedback from several customers about reviews being off when adding more than one product.

In addition, we talked about rewarding the customer. You can do this by using a discount code. Before you can use a discount code, you need to create it yourself. To create dynamic discount codes go to the page 'discount codes' under the heading 'dynamic content'. Don't forget to save your trigger settings (top right) πŸ˜‰.

After writing your text and creating a discount code, you start with creating the trigger.

After writing your text and possibly creating and adding a discount code, you can continue with the further design and styling of your trigger. We have listed a few (important) aspects for you. Some of these points we will repeat in different articles about these triggers.

Note: the styling and further layout may look different for each shop (owner), perhaps you get inspiration from the points below.

Next, here comes the text box with your written text.

Row: turn your 'benefits' into an image or a listing in a text box:

  • 30 days right of return

Row: if you have an app for your online store, you can add a link to the App Store or Play Store.

❗ Note: we already added the unsubscribe link for you in the template. If you have chosen to create a new trigger, you have to add the link yourself. You do this by selecting the relevant text and clicking on 'special links' > subscriptions > unsubscribe link in the toolbar of the text box.

Close your e-mail with a row in the same color as your header, but without your logo. This will create a decent email.


Concerning the use of colors, we advise you to use a white background color (or another light color). This will make the e-mail easier to read.

It is important to know that images are scaled by default. The images are therefore adapted to the dimensions of the images from your shop. If you don't want this, you can click on the image and turn off the option 'automatic scaling'. Then you can manually determine the size of the images.

Don't make your logo and other images too big because of the mobile version of your email. It may vary by phone, but images may be somewhat compressed.

Save your created rows, this will save you the next time you want to load the same (kind of) rows in an email again. You can find the saved rows under 'saved rows'.

Are you curious how your e-mail will look like for a client? Send yourself a test e-mail. The system will complete the email with customer data from a random profile in your web shop.

Activate trigger

Before activating the trigger, please note: did you use the Reloadify trigger template? Then please check if you have replaced our name with your own company name. Did you do that? Then you're good to go! 🎊

In this last step you will get to see a summary of your settings and you can choose to activate the trigger immediately or to activate it at a later time.

Once you activate the trigger, our system will continuously search for profiles that match your set conditions.
