Manually adding tags
Want to tag dozens, hundreds or even thousands of profiles in 1 fell swoop? By manually adding your tag, you can email your group in no time. We'll show you how to do it!
1. Create an Excel file of the profiles you want to tag
Adding tags manually is done using a CSV import. You have 2 options for this: create your own file or export profiles from Reloadify.
Do you create your own file? In that case, start with an Excel file. Create 2 columns: 1 column with the e-mail addresses, and 1 column with the desired tag.
βοΈ Always give your column a name, so you can match it to the correct field in Reloadify.
Do you export profiles from Reloadify? You can find this option under Data sources > Exports > Export profiles. Our tip: keep it organized. Create a new segment for the profiles you want to tag and export only this segment. When exporting, only select the email addresses and tags. This is the only data you need!
2. Add the tag to your Excel file
Put the desired tag in the 'tags' column. Note: do not add spaces in your tag! A space separates the data and creates 2 separate tags. You don't want that! Replace your space with a hyphen.
Do your profiles already have an existing tag? Remove this tag from your Excel file and replace it with the new tag. In step 3, uploading your file, decide whether to replace or keep the existing tag.
βοΈ Want to add multiple tags? Adding multiple tags cannot be done at once. To do this, change the tag in the CSV file and re-import it. When uploading, choose the option 'add tags to the existing tags of a profile'.
3. Upload your file to Reloadify
Finished adding your tag? Save your Excel file as a .CSV file. Go to Reloadify and go to Data sources > Imports. Behind CSV, click on the three bullet points and choose New Import.
π Is your website multilingual? In this step, choose the language you want to import the profiles to.
Upload your CSV file and click save. You will be taken to a new screen where you can assign the columns from your CSV file to the appropriate fields in Reloadify. In the last option, Tag Settings, you can specify how you want to assign the tags.
The option Overwrite all tags assigned to a profile causes all tags to be overwritten with the tag you have in your CSV file. Useful when you want to replace an existing tag!
The option Add tags to profile's existing tags option adds the tag from your CSV file to the profile without overwriting anything.
Choose the option that suits your needs and click Save. That's it! Feel the need to check if adding your tag was successful? Grab 1 email address from your CSV file and open the profile in Profiles. Your tag is now there!
Manually removing tags
Are your tags out of date? Or did an error occur in your tags? You can easily remove them again.
1. Export your profiles with the tag to be removed
To remove a tag from your profile, first export your profiles. You can find this option under Data sources > Exports > Export profiles. Select the desired filters, enter your e-mail address and click on E-mail export. You will then receive the export as a CSV file in your mail.
π‘ Tip: Only export the segment with the tag you want to remove. When doing so, select the rows that are important for deleting your tag, such as the email addresses and (of course) the tags. This provides more overview!
2. Open the CSV file and check
Open the CSV file in Excel or Spreadsheets, for example. You now see all exported data, divided into columns. In the Tags column you see all the tags of a profile. Leave the tag to be removed. Do profiles in your list have multiple tags? Leave the tag you want to remove, but remove all other tags.
βοΈ It is not possible to remove multiple tags at once. Do you want to remove multiple tags? Then redo all the steps and change the tag to the next tag to be removed.
3. Upload your CSV file to Reloadify
Upload your file to Reloadify. You will find this option under Data sources > Imports. Behind CSV, click on the three bullet points and choose New Import.
π Is your website multilingual? In this step, choose the language you want to import the profiles to.
Click Save. You will come to a new screen where you can assign the columns from your CSV file to the appropriate fields in Reloadify. In the last option, Tag Settings, you can specify how you want to assign the tags.
Choose Remove tags from profile. This option will remove the tag you have in your CSV import from the profiles.
Click Import profiles. That's it! Sure you removed the right tag? Check with a profile from your CSV file. The removed tag is now gone!
