E-mail providers argue that unsubscribing from commercial e-mails should be easy. Thus, an unsubscribe link in the header of every email is required by Gmail and others. Does your e-mail not contain this? Then chances are your e-mail will be forwarded to spam.

To keep your sending reputation high, we automatically include an unsubscribe link in the header of every email you send through Reloadify. So you don't have to do anything for this.

It is still necessary to also show the unsubscribe link in the design of email, for example in the footer.

What is a header of an e-mail?

A so-called header contains technical information that is added to every e-mail. Think of information such as sender, subject and sending time. It is the very first thing an inbox sees of an e-mail.

The header now includes an unsubscribe button, which is called "list-unsubscribe." This allows the recipient to unsubscribe from your emails newsletter immediately. This information automatically enters Reloadify and the corresponding profile is set to inactive.

Why is this list-unsubscribe necessary?

The unsubscribe link in the header is necessary for three reasons:

  • Several e-mail providers require that unsubscribing from mailings must be accessible. Offering a (hidden) unsubscribe link in the design of an email is no longer sufficient. Are you not meeting this requirement? Then chances are your e-mail will end up in spam.

  • An e-mail is less likely to be marked as spam by the recipient.

  • Spam filters see an unsubscribe link in the header as a guarantee of safe and legitimate senders.
