Moving and copying nodes and merging paths in a flow

Learn how to move or copy a node to another place in your flow, and how to merge two paths into one.

What can you do with it?

Move or copy a node to another point in your flow, including a different path. You choose whether to take just the node, or all the steps that follow it as well.

You can also merge two split paths into one path. That way, you build follow-up steps only once.

Why use it?

Without these options, you have to recreate a node when you need it somewhere else. Want to send the same email on two paths? Then you build it twice and edit it twice too.

Moving nodes and merging paths keeps your flow clear. Your content stays the same on every path.

Moving or copying a node

  1. Go to Flows and open your flow.

  2. Grab the node you want to move. The places where you can drop it light up.

  3. Drag the node to a + point in the flow. This can also be a point on another path.

  4. Release the node.

  5. Choose Only this node or Node with all following steps.

  6. Choose Move or Copy. When you move a node, it disappears from its old place. When you copy a node, it also stays in its old place.

Your changes are saved automatically.

Note: Is there a merge point after the node? Then the merge point stays where it is when you move the node. Only the node itself moves to the new place.

Merging two paths

  1. Click the + point at the end of the path you want to merge. You cannot place a merge halfway along a path.

  2. Choose Merge with other path.

  3. Click the node on the other path that you want to merge with.

  4. Do both paths have their own follow-up steps at this point? Then choose which steps to keep. The other steps are removed.

Note: Profiles on the part of the path that is removed leave the flow. So first check whether there are profiles on that part of the path.

Limitations

  • You move and merge within one flow. You cannot do this between different flows.

  • Reloadify does not detect duplicate steps automatically. You choose what to move or merge.

  • You can only merge from the end of a path. A merge halfway along a path that then returns to the original path is not possible.
