Requesting custom data through a form

Use a form to collect your own data from your customer and automatically add it as a custom field.

What is it?

Through a form, you collect data from a customer, such as their first name or email address. Do you use custom fields? Then you can also use them in a form.

The answer your customer fills in automatically ends up in the matching custom field on their profile.

Why do you use this?

With a form, you collect the custom data you need yourself, without a CSV file or the API. Your customer fills in the data directly on your landing page or pop-up.

You then use this data to make your emails more personal and to filter in the renewed rule system.

How do you add a custom field to a form?

  1. Create a landing page or pop-up, or edit an existing one. Note: add a new form.

  2. Click Add new field. You'll see all available profile fields. Your custom fields appear at the top of the list. Choose the field you want to add to your form.

  3. Reloadify adds the field to your form. Adjust the field via Manage fields in the right-hand menu. Here you set the question type and any answers.

    1. Click Edit to adjust the field.

    2. Open the dropdown menu at Type. You'll see all the options to change the question type:

      • Text. An open question. Your customer types in their own word. This word is added as a custom field.

      • Multiple choice. Several options to choose from. The chosen answer is added as a custom field.

      • Date. Your customer picks a date.

      • Email. Your customer can only enter an email address. This answer is added as a custom field.

      • Number. Your customer can only enter a number. This answer is added as a custom field.

      • Single choice. Several options, your customer picks only 1 answer. The chosen answer is added as a custom field.

      • Dropdown. Several options in a dropdown menu, your customer picks only 1 answer. The chosen answer is added as a custom field.

      • Long text. A larger text field. This option isn't recommended for custom data: a long answer is stored as a long answer under a profile.

    3. Save your field and publish the landing page or popup.
