When you combine multiple filters, you decide how those filters relate to each other. You do this with AND or OR logic.
The difference between AND and OR
AND means a profile must meet all filters to be included in the audience.
Example: customers who live in Amsterdam and have placed an order in the last 90 days.
OR means a profile must meet at least one of the filters.
Example: customers who have bought a jacket or have viewed a jacket.
Combining filters
There are two ways to combine filters.
Way 1: Adding a new filter row
Create your first filter.
Click + Add filter to add a new row.
Between the two rows a button appears with AND or OR. Click it to switch between the two options.
Repeat this for each additional filter you want to add.
Way 2: Combining filters on one row
Filters on the same row behave as a group. You set the logic between them with AND or OR. Between the different rows you then also set AND or OR.
Create your first filter.
Click the + icon directly after the filter on the same row.
Add a new filter. This filter will appear on the same row as the previous one.
Set the AND or OR logic between the filters on that row here as well.
Empty results?
Getting zero profiles back? Check whether you're using AND where you mean OR, or the other way around. An overly strict combination of AND filters quickly leads to an empty audience.
