Determine when and how many points customers earn by setting up earning actions.
Creating an earning action
Go to Loyalty > Points.
Click New points in the top right corner.
Fill in the following settings:
Name. The name of the earning action, as it appears internally. For example: 20 points for every order.
Description. A short explanation to clarify the earning action. For example: Earn 2 points for every order placed.
Start and end date. Is the earning action temporary? Enter a start and end date. Is the earning action valid indefinitely? Leave this empty.
Set the Audience filter. These determine when a customer earns points. For example: everyone whose birthday is in 2 days, or everyone who placed their first order 5 minutes ago. Under Selected profiles you can immediately see how many profiles currently match the filter rules.
Click Next.
Fill in the content of the earning action:
Public name and description. Customers see this in the Loyalty widget. In the description, you can format text and link to a specific product.
Points. Choose whether a fixed or variable number of points is awarded.
Fixed number of points: use this for static actions such as a birthday.
Variable number of points: always linked to an order. Only use this in combination with an order rule in the filter rules, such as last order was placed 1 minute ago.
Points value. Enter how many points are awarded for this earning action.
Click Save.
Return correction
Did a customer earn points through an order and then return it (partially or fully)? The associated points are automatically corrected. You can find this correction in the Loyalty activities of the profile under the type loyalty correction.
Next step
Now continue with the next step: Add rewards.
