Not sure where to start with a loyalty programme? We have collected five concrete loyalty ideas below. Each idea includes a screenshot showing how to set it up in Reloadify.

1. Reward every euro

Transparent and simple: the more you spend, the faster you are rewarded. Perfect for any online store, especially those looking to increase their average order value.

  • Savings promotion: 1 point per €1 spent

Here's how to set this up in Reloadify:

You indicate that the value of the points is 1 euro for the number of points earned for every euro spent. Does your webshop use a different currency? Then we will of course use that currency.

The savings promotion becomes active when the customer places an order.

  • Reward: 100 points = €5 discount

To do this, first create a discount code that is valid for €5. It will look like this:

Of course, a manual discount code can also be used here.

The reward itself looks like this:

2. Give them a warm welcome

New customers want to feel welcome. Give them a head start when they sign up for your newsletter. This will not only trigger their first purchase, but also make them feel appreciated.

  • Savings promotion: 50 points when signing up for the newsletter

Here's how to set this up in Reloadify:

  • Reward: 50 points = free shipping

3. Encourage reviews and customer feedback

Reviews are worth their weight in gold for your conversion rate. By rewarding customers for writing reviews, you encourage repeat purchases and increase your credibility.

  • Savings promotion: You can set this up in Reloadify as follows:

  • Reward: 100 points = 10% discount on your next purchase

4. Connect customers to your own brand

Let customers save up for a reward that is exclusive to loyal buyers of a particular brand. This strengthens your brand loyalty and increases sales of your own product range.

  • Savings promotion: 10 points per purchase of a private label product

  • Reward: 150 points = free product from limited selection

In this case, the reward is a free product. Set up a manual discount code for this, which you create in your own back-end. Often, your back-end will give you the option to apply the discount code to a specific product.

5. Discounts for personal information such as birthdays

Has your customer provided personal information? Then it's nice to thank them for this. Consider giving them a gift for their birthday.

  • Loyalty programme: 5000 points for your birthday

  • Reward: 5000 points = €10 store credit

Tips for setting up an effective loyalty programme:

  • Start small: Reward customers from their very first interaction (registration, first purchase).

  • Make it visual: Show customers how many points they have and what they can do with them in emails and on the website.

  • Provide recognisable intermediate steps: Consider small rewards (free shipping) and larger goals (discounts or exclusive products).

  • Use personalisation: Link rewards to customer behaviour or segments (e.g. VIP customers).

  • Link rewards to actions you want to encourage: Reviews, sustainable purchases, etc.
