Two factor authentication (2FA) is an authentication method where you add an extra moment of verification when logging in for Reloadify. Entering just a password is no longer sufficient. 2FA can also be known as two-step verification or two-step authentication.

Why set up 2FA?

With 2FA you protect your Reloadify account (and thus all your shop data) even better against unwanted activities. We recommend all our customers to activate 2FA. Your account is full of customer data that should not fall into the wrong hands.

Set 2FA for your profile only

To perform the settings around 2FA, open your profile settings. You open these settings by clicking on the avatar at the bottom left, and choose "Settings".

Have you forced the setting for every user? Then every user who logs in again will be stuck in this screen. Adding 2FA is then mandatory to continue.

You have two options for logging in with 2FA:

  • Add a device

  • Adding an authenticator app

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: add both a device and an authenticator app. That way, if your paired device is broken or the paired authenticator app is no longer accessible, you won't lose access to your account.

Option 1: add a device

The "add device" option links your to your Reloadify account.

  • Step 1: Turn on your bluetooth.

  • Step 2: Click on the "Add device" option.

  • Step 3: A new screen will open. Enter the name of the device here. Then click on "Add device."

  • Step 4: A browser pop-up will open where you create an access key. You are given the option of associating the current device, a phone or a tablet.

    • Choice 1: Use a phone or tablet. When you choose this option, a QR code will appear on the screen. Scan this QR code with the camera of your phone or tablet. The phone or tablet is now linked to your Reloadify account. โ—๏ธ Note: Are you working in Firefox on Windows? Then you do not have this option. You can only use option 2: Windows Hello.

    • Choice 2 (Windows): Use Windows Hello. This option allows you to use your computer or laptop's password or PIN as two-step verification. Have you secured your computer or laptop with fingerprint or facial recognition? Then you can use these as well.

    • Choice 2 (MacOS): Use this device. This option allows you to use your computer or laptop's password, PIN, or fingerprint as two-step verification.

Once you have added a device, you will see the device listed in the user settings. Don't recognize a device listed here? Then remove this device from the list as soon as possible.

Option 2: add authenticator app.

With the "add authenticator app" option, you use a separate app to generate a unique code. You need to enter this code during login as additional authentication.

  • Step 1: Download an authenticator app. Examples include: Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator.

  • Step 2: In Reloadify, click on "Add Authenticator."

  • Step 3: A QR code will appear on the screen. Scan this QR code with your authenticator app.

  • Step 4: A 6-digit code will now appear in the app under the heading "Reloadify." Enter the code, in Reloadify, to complete the setup and link the app to your account.

โ—๏ธ Please note, the image above only functions as sample. The QR code you need to scan can be found in your shop's settings in Reloadify.

Once you have added an authenticator app, you will see the app listed in the user settings. Don't you recognize an app which is listed here? Please remove it from the list as soon as possible.

Force 2FA for all users of the shop

Data protection is optimal when you allow every user of the shop to log in with 2FA. You can force this setting for all your colleagues. To do this, go via the left menu to "Settings" > "Users". Turn on the slider behind two-step authentication. From now on, every user of the shop must set up 2FA to log in.

Login with 2FA

Once you have 2FA set up for your account, you will need to complete two-step verification the next time you log in. This can be Windows Hello, your fingerprint, facial recognition or through an authenticator app, it just depends on what you have set up.

Are you using 1password? 1password has WebAuthn built in, allowing you to log in with 1password as well.
